Diorama of all sculptures of Sand Fest 2016 is made by zetaFORMS and exposed in Flora Exhibition Centre in Burgas. This 3D artwork reproduces in detail the geometry and proportions of the sand figures.

Such miniatures are made for second year in a row aiming to keep the art of the fest for the coming generations.

Technology

It is not enough to use the technique and experience of standard diorama making. It is a big challenge to reproduce in detail the sand sculptures in mini version. Photogrammetry is used to make 3D digital images of each sculpture based on 50-60 pictures from all sides. Then precise computes processing follows for the virtual images to become physical again – they are built by a professional colour 3D printer in order to be transformed in totally realistic mini copies of the original big sculptures. Something more, even figurines of real visitors of the fest are placed in the diorama who enjoy the sand sculptures and shoot pictures for a keepsake.
